Industry Leaders in Used Hardware and Repair Services, Xerxes Computer Corporation and Transaction Data Systems, Inc. Join Forces
Combined Expertise creates mega-source for used computers, networking, POS, barcode equipment and repair services one location one phone call
Bloomington, MN (January 4, 2008) Xerxes Computer Corporation (XCC) and Transaction Data Systems, Inc. (TDSI) today announced that the companies have joined together in a strategic initiative aimed at providing their customers with a single, mammoth source for used hardware, parts, board-level repair, and a wide variety of maintenance and support services. The transaction consists of the acquisition of TDSI by XCC. The owners of TDSI have retained their roles as officers of TDSI, gained a significant financial interest in Xerxes and joined the Xerxes management team to assist in the operation of Xerxes and its subsidiaries.
Combining the leader in used equipment with the leader in board level repair and maintenance services will provide customers with a single, powerful ally to address the many challenges to managing their computer hardware.
Brett Larson, VP of Product Solutions for TDSI, stated, Combining the strengths of TDSI and XCC is a significant industry event. By combining our expertise in technology repair with Xerxes' extensive history in remarketing used and refurbished hardware, we have developed a very significant partnership. We're very excited about the enhanced offerings our new relationship will bring to customers of both organizations.
According to David Duhaime, CEO of XCC, Management of both companies recognized the benefit to our customers if we could offer a single source for refurbished POS, Midrange, and barcode equipment that could also provide extensive repair and maintenance services. We can now support the equipment needs of an IT shop through all phases of the hardware life-cycle. A customer that visits our 60,000 square foot facility will quickly recognize the benefits of working with this newly-formed, mammoth product and service powerhouse. We buy, refurbish, support, maintain, and repair equipment to a degree that is un-paralleled in our industry.
The companies will continue to do business as both Transaction Data and Xerxes Computer Corporation each offering the full complement of products handled by the combined entities. TDSI's entire sales and technical repair staff have transferred their operations to XCC's Bloomington, Minnesota headquarters. While both companies will retain certain aspects of their identity, the companies are in the process of selecting a new brand, name, and logo that will be representative of their combined capabilities.
Mr. Duhaime commented further, TDSI brings a very important element to the Xerxes mission of providing complete growth cycle solutions to our technology customers. Many of our customers have a need to purchase and maintain hardware that is no longer available from the original manufacturer. Our extensive pre-owned inventory and in-house repair capabilities allow us to extend the life of the original hardware investment, saving our customers millions of dollars.
