General Features:

IBM iSeries AS400 9406 Model 270 is an outstanding server which can run applications from multiple operating environments. Six processor features are used to help match workload to the proper processor.

Two processor features identify processors targeted specifically for Lotus Domino workloads.

Two processor features identify processors targeted for more compute intensive workloads such as client/server, WebSphere, Web serving, business intelligence as well as Domino workloads. With an optional 5250 interactive feature, these processors can also support application workloads using the highly efficient 5250 data stream programming.

IBM iSeries AS400 9406 Model 270 is a compact unit which is suitable for most office environments. It is 610mm tall, 728mm deep, and 366mm or 552mm wide. Or in inches, it is 24in tall, 28.7in deep, and 14.5in or 21.9in wide. The base 270 has space for 6 disk drives (the 366cm width). With an optional system unit expansion (#7104) attached to the base Model 270 (the 552mm width), there is space for up to 18 disk drives.

An optional, physically separate PCI expansion tower (#5075) can be attached via a pair of High Speed Link (HSL) cables to provide space for 6 additional disk drives and 7 additional PCI slots. The #5075 is also 610mm tall, 728mm deep, 366mm wide and suitable for most office environments.
